Transforming Challenges into Opportunities

Sunday, June 7th, 2 to 3:30 pm (CEST)
with Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche

It is often said that we should see unfavourable circumstances as a spiritual teacher. If we are able to do that, it can be really beneficial and it can make a big difference in the progress of our inner development. This means not being overwhelmed by the present challenging situation, but instead transforming it to our own advantage to develop the qualities that are inherent in our very nature: loving kindness, compassion, and wisdom, through which we can genuinely help ourselves and others.

Usually we tend to always focus and rely on external conditions for our wellbeing and overlook the importance of inner development, which is essential for our genuine happiness. If we take these challenging times as an opportunity to connect with ourselves, it can have a meaningful outcome. However, if we see this difficult time as negative, then it will only have an adverse effect on our mental and physical wellbeing, as well as on our surroundings.

Venerable Chungpo Gyalton Rinpoche was born in Sikkim. In 1983, he was recognized as the seventh incarnation by the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche and enthroned by him in Rumtek.

Emotional Rescue - How to Work with Your Emotions

Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12
with Acharya Lama Kelzang Wangdi

What would our life be without emotions? They seem to bring energy and diversity into our existence, don’t they? But when emotions completely determine and control our emotional life – which is usually the case – they act as an obstacle to a self-determined life and create more stress than joy.

If we succeed in noticing emotions at the moment they arise, seeing through them clearly and letting go, then their inherent creative potential is revealed, which can thus be set off on the way to more zest for life and emotional liberation.

Based on the book “Emotional Rescue” by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.

The Feminine Principle in Vajrayana Buddhism

NEW DATE! Sunday, July 19th, 6 to 7:30 pm (CEST) / 9 to 10:30 am (PDT)
with Lopön Chandra Easton

Since the time of the Buddha, women have been walking the path, committed to waking up. While their voices have not always been placed front and center, an unbroken thread – the sacred feminine – has woven itself into all corners of the Dharma since the first Buddhist nun, Maha Pajapati, firmly requested ordination from the Buddha.

In the Mahayana era, around the first century CE, Prajnaparamita burst onto the scene as the first ever feminine philosophical principle within Buddhism. Prajnaparamita in essence, is the direct, unmediated experience of the true nature of reality. She is the womb of totality, the mother of the Buddhas, the genetrix of the awakened state. These teachings reached their full flowering in the Vajrayana era (circa. 7-12 th centuries CE) through a multitude of expressions, from female Buddhas such as Arya Tara, to Yoginis, Dakinis, and women as spiritual teachers.
